Meet 5 Unforgettable Nigerian Actors From Ogun State

 Who is an Actor?

Let me briefly explain who an actor is, before I proceed. m

To my own understanding, An actor is a person (man) who acts or portrays a character in a performance. Someone who perform in the traditional medium such as stage theatre or in modern medium such as a radio or television presenters and films, with the aim of educating and entertaining his audience is called an Actor.

Although, we have so many actors acting in different aspects in each parts of this country (Nigeria), but I believe most of the popular actors that can never be forget in the movies industry, were hailed from Ogun State. I'm going to mention but few of them in this post.

1. Late Chief Hubert Ogunde 

Late Ogunde was a Nigerian actor, playwrights, theatre manager and also a musician, who hailed from Ogun state and founded the first contemporary Professional theatrical company in Nigeria, called The African Music Research Party in 1945.

Ogunde was born on July 1916 and died on April 1990 at Cromwell hospital in London united kingdom.

2. Taiwo Hassan

Taiwo Hassan popularly known as Ogogo is a Nigerian film actor, director, and producer who was born in Ilaro, a town in Ogun State.

Ogogo began his acting career in 1981 shortly after he got a job at a water cooperation as an Auto mechanic. He later retired from government work to concentrate on acting. People known him with too much actions.

3. Dele Odule 

Dele Odule is a popular Nigerian film actor and producer. He was born in the town of Oru-Ijebu North local government of Ogun State. Although, he has a Grade II certificate from the college of teachers training at Oru, he still proceeded to the university Ibadan where he study theatre arts.

He started his professional acting career in drama group called Oloko theatre group, under the mentorship of Mukaila Adebisi. He made his debut appearance in 1986 before he shot into limelight after staring in the movie titled "Ti Oluwa Ni Ile". He has since gone on to star in over 400 movies and later serves as the president of the theatre arts and movie practitioners association of Nigeria.

4. Yomi Fash Lanso

Yomi Fash Lanso was born in Ogun State, he acts mostly in Yoruba language films and has more than 150 films nominated for. Africa movie Academy's Award for the Best Supporting Role at the 10th Africa movie, and his role in the movie titled "Omo Elemosho" from NEA Award, which was held in US. He also played a vital roles in many films such as Idoti Oju, Taani ki nfe, Kadara mi, and much more.

5. Lateef Adedimeji

Lateef Adedimeji is a veteran Nigerian film maker, actor, director, and producer. Although, he was born and raised in Lagos but hailed from Ogun State.

Adedimeji gained popularity with his first major role in Yetunde Adeoye's movie, which was released in 2013, titled "Judi Klepto". He has acted in over 100 Nigerian movies since he began acting 15years ago. He is now a brand new ambassador for Titan Rice.
